Hello,
This week marks one year since most of us at KPBS relocated to our homes at the beginning of the pandemic in the US. While we have been busy working from home, the expansion and renovation at KPBS is well underway.
One of the focuses of our remodel is LEED Certification. LEED is a third-party certification for “green” buildings and stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
The upgrades to KPBS include site recycling and waste management systems, which are part of LEED certification. To achieve this, we have created the KPBS Expansion & Renovation Waste and Recycling Plan. The plan aims to generate the least amount of waste possible. Having a LEED Silver building will result in lower operating costs and reduced environmental impact.
Thank you for your continued support of BUILDING ON TRUST: The Campaign for KPBS. It is your support that allows us to continue to serve San Diego and Imperial Counties with trusted news and programming that keeps us connected.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. I look forward to keeping you updated on our progress.
Best regards,
Nancy
